The Tirumala and Tirupati are the sacred and most visited holy places in India. The Tirumala hill is about 10.33 sq miles in area, and is 3200 ft above the sea level. It comprises of seven peaks that represent the seven hoods of Adisesha, therefore the name, Seshachalam. The seven peaks are also called Seshadri.
The Tirupati temple is situated on the seventh hill of Tirumala called Venkatadri, on the southern banks of holy river Pushkarini, and is devoted to Lord Vishnu in the form of Venkateswara. Tirupati actually means Lord of Lakshmi, and is the abode of Lord Venkateswara.
Since Tirupati is located on the seventh peak in the seven hills of Tirumala, it is popularly known as the “Temple of Seven Hills”. There are several mythological stories relating to these seven hills of Tirumala, that seem to have been associated with the manifestation of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala. Therefore, these seven hills have great importance.
Names of The Seven Hills -TIRUMALA TIRUPATHI
The seven hills in Tirupati, recognized as Saptagiri are believed to be the the abodes for various hindu gods. Adri means hill in sanskrit.
Seshadri – The abode of Sesha, servant of Lord Vishnu.
Neeladri – The hill abode of Neela Devi.
Garudadri – The hill of Garuda, which is the vehicle of Lord Vishnu.
Anjanadri – The abode of Lord Hanuman.
Vrishabhadri – The hill of Nandi, the vehicle of Lord Shiva.
Narayandri – The abode of Lord Vishnu.
Venkatadri – The hill abode of Lord Venkateswara.
History of 7 Hills
There are many stories associated with these sacred seven hills and the Lord Balaji resting on top of these hills. All the legends relate to manifestation of Lord Venkateswara in the holy place of Tirupati. It is believed that these hills have been waiting for thousands of years for Lord to visit them.
Vayu, the God of Wind and Seshu, the snake god on whom Lord Vishnu resides in Vaikuntham once fought with each other over an issue of who is the strongest. Seshu claimed that he is the greatest and strongest because the Lord Vishnu sleeps and takes rest on him. He says that he bears the great God, and so he is the greatest. Narada muni enters the scene and tries to decide who is the strongest. First, he asks Vayu to lift a huge mountain and throw it away.
Then came the turn of Seshu who could not do it even upon exerting great force, and finally becomes the victim of the huge mountain which falls on him. Seshu realizes his mistake out of ego, and prays Lord Vishnu to save him from the mighty mountain. Lord Vishnu saves him from the mountain, and when Seshu prays the Lord to be seated on him again, Lord asks him to wait until he reincarnates himself as Venkateswara and comes down to earth to save humankind. Seshadri, one of the seven sacred hills of Tirumala, is the hill on which Lord Venkateswara stands now.
Another legend talks about Vrishabhasura, a strong devotee of Lord vishnu who worshipped him and won a wish to fight the Lord. Lord defeats the asura and kills the ego in him. Vrishabhasura realizes his mistake, asks lord to forgive him, and requests the Lord to put his lotus feet on his head and rest there. Lord Vishnu grants the wish and says that he will reincarnate himself as Lord Venkateswara in Kali yuga, and will rest on Vrishabhasura who shall take form of a big mountain.
The worship of Sri Raghavendraswamy, who is the embodiment of Sathya and Dharma (Truth and Righteousness), bestows whatever boon one aspires like Kalpavruksha, the Celestial Tree, and Kamadhenu, the Celestial Cow. Incessant chanting of this hymn is a panacea for all ills and problems in life, especially in this age of tension. Also, chanting of ``Om Sri Raghavendraya Namaha," helps immensely.)
IT WAS by force of circumstances that Shankukarna, who was serving Brahma Deva, was ordained to manifest in this world, through all the four yugas, as a staunch devotee of Sriman Narayana. In Kritha yuga he was born as Bhakta Prahalada, in Kali yuga he is said to have reincarnated as Vyasaraja of Vijayanagar and there after, Sri Raghavendra Swamy.
Sri Raghavendra Swamy was born in 1601 A.D. at Bhuvanagiri (Tamil Nadu), by the benign Grace of Lord Venkateswara, when all the planets were in exalted and auspicious houses, bestowing a long divine life, (700 years) full of miracles and healing powers for the welfare of humanity. He ruled the Vedic Samrajya from 1624 to 1671. His 331st Aradhana was celebrated on August 24, when lakhs of devotees thronged Manthralayam and the hundreds of Brindavans in India and abroad.
A famous couplet in Kannada goes like this: Manthralayadilluruva
Karedallige Baruva.
The meaning is ``Residing in Manthralaya, He will respond to your call.'' This is absolutely true. Sri Parimalacharya has given darshan to many in India and abroad, particularly in the U.S., where many Kannada devotees reside.

Lord Hanuman - A Great Disciple
Hanuman has intense love for his Lord Rama which can be considered from
this instance. Once Hanuman was asked by Sri Rama, "How do you
consider me?". Hanuman said: "Oh Lord, while I identify myself
with my body, I am Thy servant. When I consider myself an individual
soul, I am Thy part. But when I look upon myself as the spirit, I am one
with Thee. This is my firm conviction."
Lord Hanuman is the Ideal Devotee. His Love and Affection towards Lord Rama and Seetha are unexplainable.
Hanuman Aarti completes the worship or prayers made to the God.
It is
believed that aarti provides a completion to the puja .This aarti of
Shri Hanuman is also known Bajrangbali Aarti.
Lord Satyanarayana swamy is another form of Lord Vishnu who is commonly
worshipped by Hindus in their homes along with family and friends. The
worship is performed usually on a full moon (purnima) day of the month.
People worship by reciting the gracious story of the Lord which was once
told by Lord Vishnu himself to the sage Narada for the benefit of
humankind. The Lord's grace is described in a Hindu mythological book
called Skanda Purana. He has four hands like Lord Vishnu, however, his
fourth hand does not hold a lotus rather it is extended upward to bless
people.
This Vratam (Prayers) can be done by anyone irrespective of any Caste, Creed, Sect, Sex and Age.
If anybody is performing Satyanarayana swamy puja, one should attend even though he / she has not been invited. One should take the Holy Prasada which will give after the completion of the puja.
Procedure of performing Satyanarayana Swamy Vratam:
Previous Night, think of the Lord Sri SatyanaaraayaNa and mentally decide to perform puujaa the next day. This is the sankalpa.
Next
day early morning keep the same thoughts of worshipping the Lord and
take a head-bath (if possible an oil-bath). Wash Kalasha and fill it
with clean water upto 3/4 of it and place it near the altar in a clean
place and cover it up. Observe Fast (if possible).
Again in the
evening take a head-bath. This should be done by both husband and wife.
Wear youe best dress and decorate yourself and the kalasha. Decorate the
front door, altar and the place near the altar. Invite your relatives,
friends (who have bhakti in the Lord). The yajamaan's dress should be
traditional dhoti.
Keep all the things for puja ready, near the altar.

KanakaDhara Stotram - Recited by The Great Guru - Adi Sankara Charya
One day in the sacred Rishi tradition Bhagvadpada Sri Adi Sankarachrya went to one old woman's house for alms (biksha).
She was so poor, she was not having a proper dress and anything worth the name to give as biksha. So with the entrance door of her house slightly ajar, she reached out swamiji with her hand stretched and dropped one amlaka fruit (which was the only thing available in her house) into the hands of Sri Sankaracharya.
Sri Sankaracharya was deeply touched at the plight and haplessness of the woman - So he chanted Kanakadharaa stotram and prayed Goddess Lakshmi to extend Her Grace on the woman. The giver of wealth Goddess Lakshmi showered as rain - Golden Amlaka fruits in the house of the old woman.
This Stotram has been acclaimed as Kanaka Dharaa Stavam - and it is sure to bless all devotees who extol Sri Devi with all unflinching devotion. Listen to KanakaDhara Stotram - M.S.SubbuLakshmi -

During the period the hundi also received 450 Kg of gold, 3,200 Kg of silver articles, diamonds weighing 2.430 Kg besides more than 2 Kg of pearls, loose stones, corals and other precious offerings. Lord Venkateshwara who according to the mythologies is "self-manifested" (svayambhu) is regarded
as the most revered Hindu God today. On any given day the main deity is adorned with not less than a hundred Kg of gold, diamond and pearl ornaments.
Of all the ornaments, which adorn the deity, "Makara Kanti", "Lakshmi haram", "Shaligrama haram", "Suryakatari" (golden sword believed to have been presented to the Lord by the Sun God) are of immense antique value their history being rooted in legends. Aside the recently made diamond crown whose present value is put around Rs.30 Crores the other ornaments such as "Nagabharanams", "Sankhu-Chakram", "Kati Hastham" and "Abhaya Hastham" are also made of gold and diamonds.
The "Golden Dhoti" (peethambaram) made of pure gold laces is the heaviest of all his "costumes", weighing about 40 Kg. This particular vasthram adorns the main deity during Brahmothsavam and on other main festive occasions.
