Goddess - Sri Saraswathi AshTaKam- Meaning- Video

SARASWATHI ASHTAKAM

( An octet to the goddess of knowledge)

Amba, thwadeya pada pankaja pamsu lesa,

Sambanda banduratharaa rasana thwadheeyam,

Sambhayudhadhipadamapya amruthathi ramyam,

Nimbhayathe kimutha bhouma padani thasya.                                          1

Oh, Mother, for him whose toungue is pretty,

By the contact with the dust of lotus feet of yours,

Even the position of Devendra,

Made pleasant with holy things like nectar,

Tastes bitter and what shall we say,

About any positions in earth?

Matha, sthwadheya karunamrutha poorna drushti,

Pathakwachidwidhi vasan manuje na cheth syath,

Kaa thasya  ghora api dhabhyavaaharanidhra,

Bheethyadhikeshu sama bhavamupeyivalsu.                                                 2

Oh Mother, If your merciful nectar like looks,

Does not fully  fall on a man,

What shall we tell about him,

Who does not see even differences,

In food, sleep and in grades of fear?

Vani rema giri suthethi cha roopa bhedai,

Kshoni jusham vividha mangala maadha dhasi,

Naneeyaseem thava vibhuthimaho vivekthum,

Ksheenibhavathyakruthakopi vacha prapancha                                               3

Mother, the world of words in this earth,

Is just not sufficient to describe Your greatness,

For you grant all that is good for the earth,

In the forms of Sarasvathi, Lakshmi and Parvathi.

Sarvagnatha  giri sutha kamithir vipaksha,

Garvachidhakusalathadivishad guroscha,

Charvaartha sabdha ghatana patutha kaveenaam,

Sarvam thwadheeya  karunaa kanika vivartha.                                                     4

Mother, the all time greatness of Lord Shiva,

The ability to kill the pride in enemies

Of Guru, the teacher of  devas,

And the ability to arrange words of the poets,

Are but different forms of the drops of your mercy.

Mooka kavirjada iha prathi bhavadhagryo,

Bheekunda durbhalamadhir dharani vijhetha,

Nishkinchano nidhipadhir  bhavathi thwadheeya,

Mekam kadakshamavalambhya jagathsavithree.                                              5

Oh Goddess who is mother of all earth,

By one mere merciful look of yours,

A dumb man became a poet,

A fool became the first among the wise,

And a very poor man becomes very rich.

Varnathmike , hima sudhakara sankha kunda,

Varnabhi rama thanu vallari viswa vandhye,

Karnatha deergha karunardhra kadaksha pathai,

Poorna akhilarthamima masu vidathsva devi.                                                    6

Hey Goddess with a colourful soul,

Whose body is as white as the,

Snow, moon, conch and Jasmine,

And who is worshipped by the entire world,

Please rain a merciful look on me,

From your eyes which extend to your ears,

And make me fulfill all my wishes.

Kalam kiyanthamayi they chararavindha,

Malambhya hantha vilapami vilolachetha,

Balam kurushwa krutha kruthyamimam Shubhiaka,

Moolam nidhaya karuardhra mapangamasmin.                                                    7

For how long a time ,am I crying,

Near the lotus like feet of yours,

Oh Goddess ,who is the source of all that is good,

Please be kind enough to shower,

The merciful look of yours,

So that this child will become contented.

Ananda hethu mayi they karunaam vihaya,

Noonam na kinchidakhilesi vilokayami,

Dhoonam dayarhamagathim karunamruthadrai,

Renam shishum shishirayashu kadakshapathai.                                                    8

Hey Goddess who is the cause of my  happiness,

Except for your mercy, I do not see,

Anything in this world to be happy,

And so please make this child drench in cold,

From the rain of mercy from your eyes.

For I am  fit for your mercy,

And does not have any one else.

Imam padedhya prayathasthavodhgha,

Mananya chetha jagatham jananya,

Sa vidhwadharadhitha pada peete,

Labhetha sarvam pursharthasartham.                                                  9

He who reads the prayer,

To the mother of all the world,

Would become fit to be worshipped by the wise,

And would get all that is to be got.

Meditation -YOGA Tips For GODS GRACE

BEST Meditation & YOGA Tips For GODS GRACE

1. Select a calm, quiet, clean and secluded spot or a room or corner of a room in your house reserved for this purpose. Sit there (preferably facing east—the sun rises in the east—or north—there is a great power in the north pole), with a symbol of God or a lighted lamp or candle, placed at eye-level.

2. Chant a few hymns or offer your own prayer (audibly) to the lord: this is like switching the radio on and tuning it. Raise the mind to a higher level. Imagine you are in the presence of god. This may appear to be self-hypnotism, but the results are astounding.

3. Become aware that you are seated in your room or wherever it is. You are now aware of even your body’s contact with the seat. The knowledge ‘I am sitting here’ ensures that the mind is also here and does not wander away. If the attention tends to wander, gently but firmly bring it back: ‘I am sitting here.’ Become aware of the sensation of the hands resting on your knees or in your lap. Immediately the attention is brought within the body and once the attention is narrowed down, the whole inside seems to be illuminated. You realise that just one thing is happening—breathing. You are breathing.

4. Chant ‘om’ deeply, concentrating on the solar plexus, feeling that the sound vibrations arise from there. Feel that these sound vibrations travel upwards towards the crown of the head, through the vagus nerve. They actually will. When they reach the throat-region close your lips and continue ommmmmmm and let the sound fade out at the crown of the head. Do this three or six times.

5. It is one of those ironies of life that we seem to be interested in so many wonderful things in this world without paying the least attention to the greatest wonder which is breathing. It is because we are breathing that we are alive, that we are able to enjoy life. It is a supreme wonder. Ask yourself: "What makes you breathe out and having exhaled—what makes you inhale again?" What makes one take the next breath, or in other words, how does the breathing go on? When you pay attention to this you have forgotten where you are sitting. That is, the attention has gone still deeper within yourself and is now ready to go even deeper down. Breathe normally, effortlessly. At the same time, close the glottis a little bit, so that the breath itself produces some sound. (It is not the vocal cords but the glottis that helps to produce this sound.) Let this sound also fade away and not stop abruptly. You will find that your mind follows this sound and "goes inwards." You may do ujjayi or bhramari pranayama.

6. Breathe gently now. Watch the breath. Try to listen to it without producing any sound even with the throat. It is good to use a visualisation of the nadis in conjunction with the breathing to bring about more intense concentration of the mind. Visualise the inhaled breath flowing down the ida and the pingala nadis on both sides of the spine. Hold the breath (Kumbhaka) for just a moment. (Kumbhaka literally means ‘pot-like’, which alludes to the abdominal cavity being filled by the inhaled breath.) Visualise the exhaled breath ascending up the sushumna (the central channel), at the same time drawing the abdomen in and up, as in uddiyana bandha.

7. Now the only thing you are doing is breathing. That is the only action, motion, movement. Become aware of this. Let there be the inner awareness, "I am breathing," and let this stop the mind from doing something else. Gently but firmly hold on to the awareness, "I am breathing"

8. Repeat your mantra (any name of god or sacred formula or ‘om’) as you breathe in and out, without straining the breath. Associate the mantra with the breath—this is the trick. Repeat it once while you breathe in and once while you breathe out. If the mantra is long, repeat half while inhaling and the other half while exhaling, without breaking it. Without tension you gently but actively keep listening to the mantra being heard within yourself. Become more and more deeply aware of this sound. Listen to it with all your heart, with all your attention.

9. Keep looking at the picture, symbol or the flame in front of you (that is what you have been doing all the time, at least from step 5 above) but transfer that symbol to within yourself. Feel that the image is in your own heart. See it there. Do not stare at the picture or flame in front; if you do, then your eyes will get tired and begin to smart. If you merely look without staring or focusing you will find that the symbol goes out of focus. Do not worry. Your eyes will not blink. They will not water or smart.

10. Now close your eyes if you like, and visualise that image of god clearly within your heart. Let it be radiant and living. If the mind tends to wander keep the eyes open, looking within.

11. Gradually let that image expand till it occupies your whole body, the room in which you are sitting and eventually the whole world. Feel this. Feel that you yourself are just a little part of god, one with him.

12. Sit like this for a minimum period of 20 minutes. (The preliminaries may take about 10 minutes.) Gradually increase this period.

13. After this period is over, offer a prayer to the lord for the health and long life of sick people (whom you can actually visualise in front of you) and the peace and prosperity of those who are suffering.

14. Get up slowly. Do not immediately run away. Take a few minutes before you leave the meditation room. Your mind and your nerves were extremely calm during this practice and if you suddenly jump out of that mood and rush into company, you might injure the nerves. This is very important.

15. You can practise this at other times, too—several times a day. Do not sit for this practice within two hours after a meal. Do not wear tight clothing.

16. Do not eat anything for half an hour after this practice. And do not take bath immediately either.

17. If you wish to do a few rounds of pranayama, you may do so before you start this meditation practice or soon after step 2 above. Bhastrika is useful.

If the mind wanders open your eyes, gaze at the picture and start all over again from step 5 above.Japa (repetition of a mantra) itself will lead to meditation. The lord’s grace will lead you to meditation and samadhi.

If evil thoughts enter the mind, do not pay any attention to them. Let them depart, as uninvited guests will if totally ignored! Go on with your japa, visualising the lord in the heart. If the mind wanders, resort to mental worship; or, open your eyes again and gaze at the image.

Raja Rajeswari Suprabhatam- Play for Pleasant Life

Raja Rajeswari Suprabhatam

The most well-known Suprabhātam work is the Veṅkaṭeśa suprabhātam recited at Tirupati to awaken Lord Veṅkaṭeśwara. A rendition of the poem by renowned carnatic vocalist M. S. Subbulakshmi is extremely popularwhich is played daily in many homes and temples of South India.

The idea of awakening the deity in the morning traces its origins to bhakti literature. Numerous poems were composed by saints on Shiva and Vishnu, the most popular being Manikkavacakar's poem on Shiva and Andal's poem on Sri Ranganatha (Vishnu). Acharyas who come from the lineage of Ramanuja, adapted this form into Sanskrit in later times. In Sanskrit, the Suprabhātakāvya finds it's first (1.23.2) in the Bālakāṇḍa of Vālmīki's Rāmāyaṇa, where Viśvāmitra calls out to Rāma to wake up.

Now you can find suprabhatam for every and every  Diety Independently.
Suprabhatam Should be played in between 3.AM TO 6.AM (any GOD or Goddess)

Ganesh Chalisa in English
Glory to Lord Ganesh, the Divine Son of Goddess Girija, the cause of all auspiciousness and intelligence. Ayodha Dass (the composer of these verses) humbly requests that every one be blessed with the boon of being fearless.

O Glorious Lord, consort of Parvati You are most merciful. You always bless the poor and pious devotees. Your beautiful form is adorned with the moon on Your forehead and on your ears are earrings of snakes' hood.

The holy Ganges flows from your matted hair. The saints and sages are attracted by Your splendid appearance. Around Your neck is a garland of skulls. White ash beautifies Your Divine form and clothing of lion's skin adorns Your body.

O Lord, the beloved daughter of Maina on Your left adds to Your splendid appearance. O Wearer of the lion's skin, the trishul in Your hand destroys all enemies.

Nandi and Shri Ganesh along with Lord Shiva appear as beautiful as two lotuses in the middle of an ocean. Poets and philosophers cannot describe the wonderful appearance of Lord Kartikeya and the dark complexioned Ganas (attendants).

O Lord, whenever the Deities humbly sought Your assistance, You kindly and graciously uprooted all their problems. You blessed the Deities with Your generous help when the demon Tarak outraged them and You destroyed him.

O Lord, You sent Shadanan without delay and thus destroyed the evil ones Lava and Nimesh. You also destroyed the demon Jalandhara. Your renown is known throughout the world.

O Lord, Purari, You saved all Deities and mankind by defeating and destroying the demons Tripurasura. You blessed Your devotee Bhagirath and he was able to accomplish his vow after rigorous penance.

O Gracious One, devotees always sing Your glory. Even the Vedas are unable to describe Your greatness. No one is as generous as You.

Lord, when the ocean was churned and the deadly poison emerged, out of Your deep compassion for all, You drank the poison and saved the world from destruction. Your throat became blue, thus You are known as Nilakantha.

When Lord Rama worshipped You, He became victorious over the king of demons, Ravan. When Lord Rama wished to worship Thee with one thousand lotus flowers, the Divine Mother, to test the devotion of Shri Ram, hid all the flowers at Your request.

O Lord, You kept on looking at Shri Ram, who wished to offer His lotus-like eyes to worship Thee. When You observed such intense devotion, You were delighted and blessed Him. You granted His heart's desire.

Glory be unto You O Gracious, Infinite, Immortal, All-pervading Lord. Evil thoughts torture me and I keep on traveling aimlessly in this world of mundane existence. No relief seems to be coming my way.

O Lord! I beseech Your help and see your divine blessing at this very moment. Save and protect me. Destroy my enemies with Your Trishul. Release me from the torture of evil thoughts.

O Lord, when I am in distress, neither my parents, brothers, sisters nor loved ones can relieve my suffering. I depend only on You. You are my hope. Eliminate the cause of this tremendous torture and bless me with Your compassion.

O Lord, You bless the down-trodden with prosperity and grant wisdom to the ignorant. Lord, due to my limited knowledge, I omitted to worship Thee. Please forgive me and shower Your grace upon me.

O Lord Sankar, You are the destroyer of all miseries. You remove the cause of all obstacles and grant Your devotees eternal bliss. The saints and sages meditate upon Thy most beautiful form. Even celestial beings like Sharad and Narad bow in reverence to You.

O Lord, prostrations to You. Even Brahma is unable to describe Thy greatness. Whosoever recites these verses with faith and devotion receives Your infinite blessings.

Devotees who chant these verses with intense love become prosperous by the grace of Lord Shiva. Even the childless wishing to have children, have their desires fulfilled after partaking of Shiva-prasad with faith and devotion.

On Trayodashi (13th day of the dark and bright fortnights) one should invite a pandit and devotedly make offerings to Lord Shiva. Those who fast and pray to Lord Shiva on Trayodashi are always healthy and prosperous.

Whosoever offers incense, prasad and performs aarti to Lord Shiva, with love and devotion, enjoys material happiness and spiritual bliss in this world and hereafter ascends to the abode of Lord Shiva. The poet prays that Lord Shiva removed the suffering of all and grants them eternal bliss.

O Universal Lord, every morning as a rule I recite this Chalisa with devotion. Please bless me so that I may be able to accomplish my material and spiritual desires

Shiridi Saibaba -Suprabhatam -Watch Everyday

Shiridi Saibaba -Suprabhatam -

Philosophical Significance of Grinding wheat
Apart from the meaning which the people of Shirdi put on this incident of grinding wheat, there is, we think, a philosophical significance too. Sai Baba lived in Shirdi for about sixty years and during this long period, He did the business of grinding almost every day - not, however, the wheat alone; but the sins, the mental and physical afflications and the miseries of His innumerable devotees. The two stones of His mill consisted of Karma and Bhakti, the former being the lower and the latter the upper one. The handle with which Baba worked the mill consisted of Jnana.

It was the firm conviction of Baba that Knowledge or Self-realization is not possible, unless
there is the prior act of grinding of all our impulses, desires, sins; and of the three gunas, viz. Sattva, Raja and Tama; and the Ahamkara, which is so subtle and therefore so difficult to be got rid of.
This reminds us of a similar story of Kabir who seeing a woman grinding corn said to his Guru, Nipathiranjana, "I am weeping because I feel the agony of being crushed in this wheel of wordly existence like the corn in the handmill."

Nipathiranjana replied, "Do not be afraid; hold fast to the handle of knowledge of this mill, as I do, and do
not wander far away from the same but turn inward to the Centre, and you are sure to be saved."

Mookambika -Kollur-Suprabhatam- P-Leela

Mookambika temple is an ancient temple located at Kollur in Karnataka. Kollur is about 135 away from Mangalore. And is easily accessed from Tamilnadu, Kerala and Karnataka by train and road.
It is the only temple that is dedicated to goddess Parvathi and believed to be created by Parashurama. This temple is very well known among the people of Tamilnadu and the goddess Parvathi is called in Tamil as Thai Mookambika. Parvathi temple is located exactly on the banks of the perennial river Souparnika that runs close to the foot hills of the Western Ghats.

River Sauparnika has its attribute to the eagle called Suparna that did penance in this bank and attained salvation. This temple has a long history for its origin. It is said goddess Parvathi killed the Kamsasuran who lived here and who attempted to become all powerful through his penance. .

Devi along with the help of Veerabadra, Ganapathi and Shiva initially made him dumb and he came to be called Mookasuran, mooka means to be dumb. Later the goddess killed him with her Chakra on the midnight of Shukla Astami. From then on Devi came to be called as Kollur Devi Mookambika.

Then her divine energy became one with the lingam worshipped by Kola Maharishi. At the Sri Mookambika temple the Lingam is the main deity and is known as Jyothirlingam. Devi Mookambika has three eyes and four arms, with the divine disc and conch in her hands.

The Mookambika temple is renowned for its beauty and aesthetics, all over the world. Goddess Kollur Mookambika is adorned with flowers. Ritual bathing and prayer to the idol are a common feature of the presiding lingam.

The perennial Souparnika river’s pure water is used for theertham and puja. The kollur Mookambika temple wears a festival look during Navarathri and Navarathri is celebrated with pomp, show and gaiety.
